Meet Jacqueline!
>Ever felt as though “no one told you life was gonna [sic] be this way?” As though, “you’re always stuck in second gear?” Or “when it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month or even your year?” Well, this is where “I’ll be there for you!”
I am a bilingual Registered Psychotherapist with over a decade of experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, grief, family planning, pregnancy/postpartum adjustment, parenting, boundary-setting, relationship or marital issues, sexuality/intimacy issues, to name a few. I have additional training in Postpartum Depression, Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Walk & Talk Therapy. I also have 8 years experience working with children, youth and families in Children’s Mental Health.
I believe in working with individual adults and couples to help them reach their objectives and fulfill their purpose for seeking counselling. I do so while exhibiting respect, empathy, unconditional positive regard, genuineness and understanding. I am also hopeful, optimistic, determined and enthusiastic about their goals. I am motivated to seeing my clients succeed, however that may look in the end of our work together. I create a safe and non-judgmental space or outlet for them to feel heard. I can act as a sounding board, a devil’s advocate, a person of support or a “colleague” in their own life’s work. I use a variety of approaches in counselling and determine which is most beneficial to the client after meeting with them and discussing their therapeutic goals as well as assessing which of their skills and strengths can benefit them in attaining those goals.
I am very passionate about helping women through the woes of starting a family (or adding to it), whether they are contemplating pregnancy, are pregnant, struggling with infertility or postpartum. I also love to work with parents, as a couple or individually, on the trials and tribulations of parenting. Additionally, I am skilled and eager to work with couples struggling in their relationship or marriage.
So, whether “you’re still in bed at ten, [when] work began at eight” or you feel “the world has brought you down to your knees” or that “your job’s a joke, you’re broke, [or] your love life’s DOA”, thank you for trusting me and taking the first step towards your mental health wellness. I’ll be there for you, every step of the way.
My passion is helping you live a more fulfilling life by achieving the goals that brought you to therapy. Are you looking for ways to manage anxiety, low mood, academic stress, grief, or a major life transition? Together, we can explore where change might be beneficial and how to align your values with your day-to-day life. You already bring unique strengths to therapy, and we’ll work together to build on those, developing new skills to navigate life’s challenges. I believe in celebrating the small victories along the way to wellness.
As a Registered Psychotherapist with four years of experience, I use an eclectic approach to meet your unique needs, including in-person Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for issues like trauma. During my time at Queen’s University, I was honored to be nominated as a Mental Health Champion by students through the Campus Wellness Project.
I’m dedicated to helping you thrive in a safe, non-judgmental space filled with empathy and respect. I’m currently accepting adult clients across Ontario for online appointments, as well as in-person sessions in Kingston. Reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to take the next step in your journey.
